For your consideration are a scarce pair of mid to late 1800’s mirrored Sconces. These are getting very hard to find , I believe that these are mid to late 19th C based on tin weight, construction and size of candle sockets and bobeches. I found these at a local Portland Oregon shop from a dealer that I have bought wonderful Americana from for years and he bought them at Brimfield years ago. These style of sconces were made starting in the late 1700’s using Tin and mirrored glass to reflect the light and wer commonly used in ballrooms in larger homes and parlors. I believe these were made in the later 1800’s to commemorate the Colonial Revival look in conjunction with the 1876 Centennial. I believe that these are Centennial pieces but wonderful never the less! I start with a low bid and if not enough watchers or bids by the 6th day will end the auction. I do this in lieu of reserves to protect the investment.
