A 1900’s quilt top w/huge appliqued flowers.
Size – the quilt top is 69″ x 69″. Each block is 23″ x 23″. There are 9 blocks in this quilt top.
The blocks were hand-stitched together. All of the appliqed work was alos hand-stitched w/careful, tiny stitches.
The background of each block is cream muslin. The flowers are a fantatic shade of deep pink – very rich color w/rose tones. The stems & leaves are clear SPring green. Very striking & dramatic antique textile.
Condition – the fabric is sound. The stitching is still intact. However, all 9 blocks have storage discoloration. SOme have light (looks like) water stains. A few have small spots. I did not wash this quilt top – I don’t know if any of the discoloration/stains/spots would come out or lighten if it was washed. This is a dramatic quilt top – really lovely – BUT, it is timeworn.
