Up for Auction is an Antique Enterprise MFG Co. Cast Iron Coffee Grinder or Coffee Mill Philadelphia PA. It has without a doubt been painted and restinseled. They did a fairly good job on the outside, but got a little messy on the inside of lid and inside of grinder where the grinder parts are located. It has the original brass eagle finial, however it is loose and needs to be tightened up. Grinder parts show coffee residue and needs to be cleaned. I have not done any cleaning to this unit. I have not tested this grinder but it shows evidence of use so i assume it works properly. This would be great for store or home display, as well as home, restraunt, hotel or store use. On the grinder has Oct 21 1873. Wheels have Dec 9 73. Grinder parts inside have April 13 1875. Handle has a split but does not affect the use. Paint loss around edges of wheels. Nothing major though, adds a little character. Drawer is possibly original but i have no way to guarantee that(SOMEONE SAID IT WAS REPLACED). has the white knob on drawer and top of lid. Wheels turn freely and gears turn as supposed to. Beautiful stensiling of flowers. See the last two pictures for a sample. There is 1 large flower at top barrel. A flower on each side of outside by lug nut that would open to the grinder parts. a flower on all 4 corners of top bottom of grinder. and a flower on each corner of bottom sides. They stand out better in person than they do in the pictures. Camera flash and lighting causes them to be faint. The following measurements are approximate: Top of eagle finial to where it sits on floor 23 1/2″. Wheels are 17″ across. Wood base needs a little repair as its coming loose. Wood base is 11 x 11 x1 . I assume it is a number 7 based on measurements. All other no 7s on here have the same measurements as mine. I do not see a no 7 on mine, i assume the repaint covered it. These grinders are RARE and very hard to find and sought after. LOW STARTING PRICE AND NO RESERVE. This grinder would look great as a display or serve your use purposes. BID EARLY!!!
