This is an exquisite antique silk panel picture: 7″ wide x 22″ long. If you appreciate fine handwork, you will be thrilled with this picture.
Thousands of miniscule hand embroidered stitches create the scene that runs down the center of the panel. The colored threads are predominantly soft nile green, french blue, and grey. The delicate embroidery design is centered on a cream woven silk panel.
There are two tears, both on the left side, 1″ and 2″. There is some weakness elsewhere but nothing that could not be controlled at this point by careful acid-free mounting. And none of the weakness affects the embroidery directly.See these in the last photos above.
This beautiful embroidered panel is a fine example of a needleworker’s skill.
