Exquisite 1800’s antique Victorian
Handmade black silk, lace, velvet & jet beaded dress collar~!
Exquisite antique 1860’s Civil War era fancy high collar. Entirely hand stitched with gorgeous fine black lace appliques over fine black silk. The lower pointed collar is hand beaded with jet glass beads. The upper collar is trimmed in black velvet and is also beaded. There are a total of 9 sewn in collar stays. Perfect addition for a corset jacket or 1800’s dress in need of collar replacement. Measures 14 inches around the neck and is about 2.5 inches wide. Excellent condition although the black silk lining is in shreds. The front silk is fine…it is the lining that is damaged. The top velvet is missing some jet beads. Just redistribute what beading is there.Early hook & eye closure in back. This is an exquisite ladies Victorian accessory . For serious collectors and vintage clothing dealers this is a must see hand made lace collar ~!
