Here we have a very nice fully working BINOCULAR BRASS MICROSCOPE .. I cannot seem to find a Makers Name BUT on the Wooden Stand just below the reflecting mirror is indented ‘ CRANBOURN LONDON ‘ . not sure if this is the Makers or Suppliers ?
It retains the original brass lacquer but the Microscope itself and some of the accessories are in need of a polish due to the usual spotting for an c1800s Microscope such as this … I am sure you will then have a Magnificent Piece !
As can be seen the Wenham Prism is complete and intact and you will also see that almost all its Accessories are intact apart from just two missing pieces from within the Box .. other accessories include a huge telescopic Bulls Eye Lens Condenser measuring at its tallest 13 ins, the Lens measures 2 1/2 ins diameter and the stand is 3 ins diameter .. a large Prism Lens complete with both prisms .. Livebox measuring 3 1/2 ins x 1 1/2 ins .. a 6 ins long Stage Forceps .. two Objective Lenses engraved 1 in. and 1/4 in. .. PLUS other accessories.
The Double Sided reflecting is excellent one side but is crackling to the other.
The Box os also in wonderful condition but no key.
All together weighs 9 Kilos.
