Offered in this sale is a wonderful early musical German bisque Marotte doll toy that I believe was made for the French market in the late 1800s. I know almost nothing about dolls let alone these Marotte toys so please feel free to email if you have specific questions. I could not find any makers mark on the head. It has painted features and the eyes appear to be set – perhaps glass. Overall the piece measures roughly 14″ from the top of the hat the the end of the handle. When you swing the stick the works inside the doll plays music. I don’t know how one classifies condition on these pieces. It appears to be all original. The bisque doll head is free of any damage. The handle is also fine. The condition of the lace around the neck and the cloth is aged and somewhat fragile. Be sure to enlarge and zoom the images for a close up view. Please feel free to email .
