Offered for sale: A pair of specially commissioned bookmarks woven by J & J Cash in Coventry, England “Souvenir of the Independence of America” depicting George Washington portrait and an image of the Signing of the Declaration of Independence. The design is from a composite of two Thomas Stevens bookmarks (the Stevens of Stevengraph fame). One of the bookmarks is in a presentation folder with backing card and envelope – all cellophane wrapped. This bookmark contains an ERROR in the wording of ‘Independence’ (which lacks a letter ‘n’). The other bookmark is identical except that the spelling is correct. Also it does not have the packing.
The bookmarks are in mint condition The bookmark size is 2×7.5 inches (not including the tassel) and the mount size 4×10.5 inches (sizes approximate).
