We are pleased to offer an antique Chinese porcelain famille rose jardinerre and carved wood stand made in the late 19th or early 20th century, Republic period.
height with stand: 9 3/4"
jardinerre: 9 3/4" x 7" x 5 1/2" height
Fine quality jardinerre of rectangular shape with curved sides resting on four curved cloud form feet. Very finely decorated on the sides with various landscape scenes with mountains and sea, boats and houses and figures, all painted in the soft colors of the famille rose palette. The top edge with a flower and fretwork border in pink enamel. Two drainage holes in the bottom were made in the manufacture. Original carved wood stand is included.
Acquired from a local estate collection and offered in very good condition with chips to the bottom of two feet and with one other foot partially restored and a bit shorter than the others. There are also two small firing cracks on the top edge from manufacture, and minor glaze flakes.
