Antique Paramount Banjo B Tenor 1921 Serial 00000

Antique Paramount Banjo B Tenor 1921 Serial 00000

Antique This is a Paramount B Banjo (Tenor?) by William L. Lange circa 1921.  The Patent # 1348652 on interior rim as well as the Serial # 00000 which is in two places on the center support and on the interior wood rim.  The neck is maple
with dark lamination’s maple resonator. The fingerboard is Brazilian
rosewood with MOP inlay, wood marquetry trim on the side of neck and nickle
plated hardware.  I’m not a musical instrument expert so I goggled the serial number and could only come up with four zeros 0000 and not 5 which are stamped into the maple as seen.  I’m hoping that this was the first in a series of a hundred made, whatever the case I will leave this up to you the bidders.

I took many photos last week with the intention to list it right away, sadly my daughter knocked it over and it snapped the neck clean off.  I am showing before and after photos so you can get an idea what it looked like a week ago. It’s my fault that this happened I should have of had the sense to put it away.  With that said it went from a piece that needing a new skin, polishing and some clean up to a piece that needs a neck re-attached.  Nickle plating wear on arm resting bar.  I was going to attempt the repair but felt it needed to be done by someone who has wood working skills.  Still all in all the neck is straight with beautiful mother of pearl inlay with one tiny piece missing and with some TLC it will be a beauty again and a wonderful investment!

Before all of this happened I was going to ask more than my current starting bid. I need to be realistic to give someone the opportunity to make this piece right again.
