Description
A lovely uncommon antique Victorian silver plated vesta/match case decorated with recessed heart shaped polished agate clover leaves, and with attractive engraved leaf and foliage decoration. Has a hinged lid and is complete with its bale ring. No engraved inscriptions or monograms.
Measurements Measures approx 1.95 inches (49mm) x 1.5 inches (37mm) and is 0.5 inches (12mm) deep.
Date Guaranteed a genuine antique late 19th century example and dates from around 1890-1900.
Condition Good condition, no splits or cracks, no solder repairs, and no nasty knocks or dents either.
The lid hinge works perfectly, the spring bar is missing but the lid opens and closes properly. All the polished agate stones are in place, with no replacements, a couple of chips on a few, but at least they are all there. Nice uncommon Victorian agate set vesta.
