In the late 1920’s, the U.S. Army Air Corps approached Bausch & Lomb with an urgent request for an optical glass that would help fliers overcome the brutal glare of the sun. Responding to this need, Bausch & Lomb created the first Ray-Ban glass, which not only met, but far exceeded the exacting Air Corps standards. Today, Ray-Ban sunglasses are still manufactured to standards that produce the same level of excellence. Each pair provides full glare protection while preserving peak visual acuity. Ray-Ban sunglasses also provide 100% protection from the harmful effects of UV rays. Their finely ground and polished lenses are free of the waves, blemishes and other defects that can distort vision. The frames too are produced under the same code of quality (Bausch & Lomb).
These beautiful Antique Bronze Bausch & Lomb USA Ray Ban Round Metal sunglasses are brand new (old stock) in mint original condition.
The G-15 Grey lenses are in mint condition, the Ray Ban olympic sponsorship sticker is still attached to the left lens. G-15 neutral grey lenses transmit all colours equally so they retain their true values, 85% visible light absortion. They are manufactured from optical quality mineral glass and provide 100% UV protection.
The Antique Bronze frames are also in mint condition. They are predominantly matte bronze with contrasting darker areas around the bridge and temples to give an atractive oxidised antique finish.The frames also features a subtle beading pattern around the lens frame and bridge.
They measure 125mm wide (temple to temple).The lenses are not perfectly round they flatten out slightly at the top; they measure 49mm wide by 45mm deep. They are fitted with 130mm paddle arms, the hinges are good and tight.
The right lens carries the Ray-Ban logo in gold lettering. Both lenses are etched BL next to the hinges. The bridge is stamped B&L Ray-Ban USA on the inside.
The sunglasses come with original Bausch & Lomb Ray Ban case and packaging.
