Vintage Antique Victorian Christmas German Large Belsnickel Santa With Tree
This is a German Belsnickel that is 12″ tall with a red coat with flecks of gold. These Belsnickels were made in Germany between 1890 and World War 1. They are hollow cast, in two molds and cover with paint. Most were made standing on a small round base with their hands in their sleeves holding a sprig of greenery in their right arm. He has white trim around his face. He has some very minor damage to the base which does not interfere with how erect he stands as you can see in the picture. I do guarantee him to be an old one not a reproduction.
