You are a Royal Doulton polychrome Chocolate Pot dating from 1890 – 1910. Very Art Nouveau with it’s octagonal shape and geometric handle. It is in an unknown pattern that is an Oriental Floral pattern many English potteries used beginning in the mid 1800’s (used by the Chinese for centuries). This piece almost has a ‘flow blue’ look about it (this pattern was used on much flow blue and by many American potteries as well) with its hand-painted blue highlights yet without the ‘flow’. I have had this many, many years and unfortunately do not remember where I purchased. I did notice a short hairline (about an inch near the top) when I was inspecting it to place it up for auction. See picture #8 (I wet it so it would show as it is not noticeable without doing so); if I were going to keep it, I personally would have it repaired to mint condition to avoid any further spreading. There is no other damage that I can see or feel. It is a beautiful piece and displays well with flow blue and other polychrome china and pottery. It measures 7 1/2 inches tall, a bit over 7 inches from spout to handle and its base diameter is a little over 3 3/4″. A lovely piece and the mark is well preserved with registry mark (I did not look up the exact date – I knew from design, color and shape it was art Nouveau) which you can look up to find out the exact date it was produced.
