The front of this rare antique (c. 1910) silver puffy heart charm
features a skillfully hand-enameled Portland, Oregon design. The calligraphy design
is embellished with hand-painted flourishes. A beaded border compliments the
enamel design. The reverse is artistically hand-engraved with a period
monogram.
This colorful treasure measures about ½â€x?â€. It is in and
is marked STERLING.
A puffy charm is fashioned from a thin sheet of silver or
gold. It is stamped or formed with a répoussé process and seamed, leaving the
inside of the charm hollow. This makes the charm very lightweight and
“puffyâ€. Often the charms are embellished with hand-engraving and
additional chasing to enhance the details.
This charm is from the estate of Joan Munkacsi. Joan, of A Charmed Existence, was an avid and
extremely knowledgeable collector and seller of vintage charms and charm
bracelets. We miss her.
It will be carefully packaged to insure safe delivery.
