DESCRIPTION: Offered here is a Philco 8 tube radio manufactured circa 1935. I am not sure of the model number but the design of the chassis is like a model 650 or 655. I have not been able to find any pictures that look exactly like this one but Philco was known for having more than one cabinet style for the same model. This radio is totally restored electronically to original factory specifications and cosmetically as close to original as possible. The chassis has been bench tested and all defective and substandard out of tolerance components have been replaced. All electrolytic and paper capacitors have been replaced with high quality factory new capacitors. Other components including but not limited to tubes, controls, and resistors were tested and replaced if found to be faulty in any way. AC power cord is new. All replacement components are factory new except tubes which may be used or NOS test good. Any original above chassis components that are no longer in use are disconnected from the circuit but left in place for original looking display. All new replacement components are installed under the chassis out of view. The cabinet has been totally restored. All old finish was removed and any and all structural issues with the cabinet were professionally addressed making the cabinet structurally as good as new or better. The cabinet was then refinished inside and out with multiple coats of state of the art materials formulated to match original color and luster as closely as possible while creating a finish that is much more scratch and stain resistant than the original finish. The entire cabinet is totally free of dents and scratches looks like new. Original knobs are in . Dial scale is in perfect condition fully clear and readable. This model covers the standard am broadcast band and two short wave bands. 540-1750 khz, 1750-5800 khz, and 5700-18000 khz. The radio plays perfectly with with loud rich sound with no hum and has very good sensitivity and dial calibration on both broadcast and short wave. It receives many stations loud and clear with a few feet of wire for an antenna. If you are looking for a large tombstone radio with great sound this is the radio for you. The dimensions of the radio are 16″ wide, 11″ deep, and 21″ high.

This item is accurately described vintage electronics sold as is but it is guaranteed to give satisfactory performance. It will arrive at your door in perfect working condition with no repairs needed and is guaranteed to continue to work perfectly for 90 days after the end of the auction. In the unlikely event that problems develop in the first 90 days after the end of the auction all parts and labor to repair the radio will be provided free of charge. Problems caused by accident, abuse, or alteration by buyer excluded.
