This is a Gorgeous old 19th Century Victorian Wood & Gesso Frame holding an Impressive Embossed Leather Portrait of Ulysses & his dog Argus from The Odyssey by Homer. This piece may be the Cover to a Beautiful Early Leather Book. Now it’s a Fabulous piece of Roman Victorian Art. The High Relief Embossing is Very Detailed and has a wonderful almost Bronze Patina that gives it Museum Quality Appeal.
There are a few light chips in the Gesso on the Frame but overall this Piece Displays nicely with light age wear.
