DISTINCTIVE ANTIQUE ENGLISH PINCHBECK GRAPE & VINE BANGLE BRACELET c1830 CHERUB
A wonderful quality antique pinchbeck type gilt yellow metal bangle / bracelet; beautifully made, with applied ornate vine-leaf and grape hinged band and head with an applied 3-d cherub blowing/drinking from a horn, with later integrated snap-fastener.
An unusual, wonderfully wearable and very distinctive antique bangle!
CONDITION: All original and very, very good. Slightest signs of wear commensurate with age and use. Fastener section an old addition, probably to lengthen it. Closure stiff.
DEFECTS: None.
DATE/MARKS: Around 1840/50. Not marked.
DIMENSIONS: Internal circumference 7 inches, internal diameter 61 x 51 mm, max width 44 mm (1 inch = 25.4 mm). To give an impression of scale, the coin is 19 mm or ¾ of an inch diameter.
WEIGHT: Approx. 59.5 grams.
