LARGE 120 Yr Old Elgin Fancy Dial Pkt Watch Runs

LARGE 120 Yr Old Elgin Fancy Dial Pkt Watch Runs

LARGE

Up for bid in this NO RESERVE auction is this beautiful antique Elgin sidewinder pocket watch. It is estimated at about 120 years old and in nice condition. The genuine antique “glass” lens has no chips, cracks or scratches. The fancy porcelain dial has a yellow center with gold accents and unusual yellow gold hands. The Philadelphia Silverode swing out case looks real nice. The cover screws on smoothly, aligns seamlessly and all surfaces shine like mirrors. The high precision 15 jewel movement runs real strong and keeps accurate time. This watch is stem wound, lever set and these mechanisms also work properly. The only problems I have noticed on this item are a few small dial edge chips that cannot be seen when the bezel is installed and some small hairlines on the dial. Your satisfaction with this item is guaranteed. The measurements of this watch are 2-1/8 inches in diameter by a little over 3 inches across including the winder and bow by 5/8 of an inch thick and has an unpackaged weight of just under 1/4 of a pound (3.815 ounces). The movement is marked as Elgin Nat’l Watch Co. – Safety Pinion and the movement number is 5437525.
