Antique Japanese Hirado Vase.
Hirado made the finest blue and white
porcelain ever produced in Japan for upwards of 500 years, and the encrusted insect handles here are typical of
their work. This vase is beautiful and
in pristine condition. AUSPICIOUS DESIGNS OF FLOWERS and 2 LARGE LOCUSTS/CICADAS ON
EITHER SIDE OF THE BOTTLE NECK.
The vase measures 18.5″ in HEIGHT and 4″ in DIAMETER. This is one of the most beautiful pieces of Japanese porcelain I have ever seen. I believe it would date to the middle late 19thth
to early 20th century. The vase is in fine, original condition — with no chips, cracks, or repairs. This large and glistening Hirado displays beautifully. A Fine and Impressive piece to add to your collection, and a rare opportunity in this no-reserve auction.
