Description
These are beautiful and endearing, yet simple antique earrings of indeterminable vintage although I feel them to be from around the 1940’s.
They are NOT stamped or marked in any way but are TESTED to 9ct 375/1000 MINIMUM solid gold purity, crafted into delicate floral ‘trefoils’, housing pendeloque cut GARNETS.
They measure 2cms long, excluding the ‘crook’ hooks for pierced ears, and are hand made and set.
Each, sumptuous, pendeloque or pear cut garnet measures 6mm X 4mm X 2.5mm, giving an estimated Carat weight of 1.2 Carats per earring, 2.4 Carats TOTAL.
The gold has a subtle, pinkish/orange hue, not the rich, rosy shade of ROSE gold but far removed from the brash, brassy yellow of modern gold.
These gorgeous earrings will enhance any quality jewellery collection.
Unquestionably collectable and unequivocally desirable, it non-the-less appears here in this NO RESERVE, NO CATCHES auction.
