Vintage Stuben Iridescent Blue Art Glass Vase

Description
This Antique Stuben Vase, marked “aurene 938″ on the base, is in very good condition with very minimal wear for its age. Produced in the early 1900s, this vase has a very nice iridescent blue color with a soft even sheen. There are a couple of very slight nicks on the rim of the base which are barely visible and barely detectible by running your fingernail across them. There is also a scratch or possibly hairline crack in the base that is visible from the bottom only. If this is a crack I believe it is from the manufacturing process or the way the glass was separated from the stem after being blown. The vase measures approximately 5″ tall, 4.5″ at its widest point and 2.75” across the base.
Steuben Glass Works is an American manufacturer
of art glass, founded in the summer of 1903 by Frederick Carder and
Thomas G. Hawkes in Corning, NY. In 1904 Stuben began producing its Aurene range
which was similar to iridescent art glass that was being produced by
Tiffany.
