This old/antique handheld ADLAKE Railroad heavy Lantern was left in our attic by the previous owner 46 years ago, being a woman I know very little about lanterns, therefore I will sell it as it is, I researched it at the library to describe it, and I only dusted off the cobwebs to take images.
The top lift is embossed (THE ADLAKE NON-SWEATING LAMP CHICAGO) and the side is embossed B.R.). It has 2 red lens, 2 blue lens, and 2 red shrouds. Lamp measures all APPROX. (20 1/8†tall with handle in up position, 16 ½†tall to the top, 9†wide across at the two shrouds, 8 7/8†wide across one shroud. There is NO fuel pot and NO burner, and NO knob on the stem that adjusts the wick. The insides of the lens are embossed (REG. U.S. PAT OFF MADE IN U.S.A. CORNING GLASS WORKS). Condition, one red and one blue lens has some very tiny nicks, one red lens has what looks like a short hairline imperfection inside of the glass and it is kind of hard to see cause the glass is dark in color (I could see it using a flashlight), it is possible both shrouds may have been repainted (though I am not certain), and one has a small white paint smudge, and I HONESTLY cannot tell if the lamp has been repainted. Buyers may email me questions or request more images before bidding. High bidder also pays $45.00 that includes UPS Stores Professional Fragile Packing, USPS Parcel Post shipping, insurance is included in the handling. Thank you for looking.
