Antique Victorian Frosted Art Glass Chrysanthemum Swirl Stripes Vase Spooner

Antique Victorian Frosted Art Glass Chrysanthemum Swirl Stripes Vase Spooner

Victorian Glass

Being submitted for auction a beautiful art glass piece.  I believe it is a vase, because I am thinking it is too tall for a spooner.  Perhaps a celery?  As you can tell, I truly don’t know what it was utilized for.  **I want to make a quick note here…I had this up for auction for only a day, and took it down….I thought the photographs of it with the black background gave the vase a brighter yellow color than it truly has.  So, I added a couple of photos with the vase having a white background…you will note that the yellow is not as prominent…which is more true to the vase.  Just didn’t want to give a false presentation.  Kinda an ugly yellow.

I believe that the design is referred to ‘Chrysanthemum Swirl’.  The glass swirls in one direction, while the white of the design swirls in the reverse direction.

It measures 6.25 inches in height, with the top diameter being 3 inches.

I reviewed the piece closely and noted some light surface residue inside.  It isn’t severe, nothing like what you see in glass planters.  I didn’t attempt to clean.  There is a photograph of it for you to review.  Also found a little rough spot on the top rim.  It measures 1 inch in length, and less then 1/4″ wide.  I also photographed that area for you to review.  There is light surface scratching and dullness on the base from table wear.

A truly beautiful piece for your home, I would most likely use it as a vase.

I currently have another piece of victorian glass up for auction, so be sure to take a peek.
