FABULOUS ANTIQUE MERIDEN SILVERPLATED COFFEE AND TEA SERVICE
ELABORATELY CHASED DESIGN ~ 3 POTS, COVERED SUGAR, CREAM & WASTE POT c1860
This is a fantastic old Meriden Silver Plate Co. tea and coffee service, quite old and dating to circa 1865. It has a gorgeous chased design with repousse flowers on the lids and wonderful finials. The service consists of 6 pieces, three pots, a large cream pitcher, very large covered sugar and waste pot. The three pots are 11-1/2,” 12″ and 12-1/2″ tall. I suppose you would use one for tea, one for coffee and one for water. The open creamer is 5-3/4″ tall. The large sugar, which is almost as big as the pots, is 10-1/2″ tall and the waste pot is 5-3/4″ tall. All pieces are monogrammed in one of the cabuchons with an S and what appears to be an I, interlocked. The pots have some silver loss, but considering their age, it surely isn’t bad at all. I do not see any dents or dings to any of the pieces in the set. All pieces are marked Meriden Silver Plate Co. Quadruple Plate and numbered 1415.
This set is relisted due to nonpayment by the original buyer. It has not left my location and is in the same condition as when sold the first time.
