Authentic Vintage Industrial Railroad Lineberry Factory Cart
This cart is smooth to the touch and still shows the character and signs from years of service!
The oak, iron, and fasteners are original and the cart has been completely restored. We do not paint the iron on our carts! We buff and clean the iron and clear coat it. We think this gives our carts a more authentic look.
These photos show the actual cart that is being auctioned. We photograph each cart as we list it.
Own a piece of American history! This antique cart is a genuine product of dedicated American craftmanship. It came out of a well-established funiture factory in Western North Carolina, a center of furniture manufacturing in the last century. Carts moved furniture and furniture parts around the factory during production. The signs of their years of service have been preserved in our restoration process. The cart was manufactured by the Lineberry Company in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina.
No end-to-end rocking:
These carts were designed and built to be used in factories. They are solid and strong, but they rock end-to-end. This is actually part of their design. It made them easier to roll over the uneven surfaces of a factory floor. It’s a good design for a factory, but bad for a table. So…
We fix the rocking by adding an improved set screw to each end-wheel and ship a wrench with the cart so you can adjust the table just the way you want it. Not every cart on ebay has a durable fix for this. Look carefully.
Authentic Lettering: Our lettering is authentic. “LINEBERRY N. WILKESBORO, N.C.” appears on both sides of the cart.
Superior Restoration Process: the iron was removed from the cart and carefully cleaned, buffed, and given a clear coat. The fasteners (nuts, bolts, and washers) were each individually hand-cleaned and buffed. The oak was cleaned, restored, and given several coats of a durable satin finish. A furniture-grade paste wax was added to the wooden parts for extra protection. No wax has been added to the iron wheels which come in contact with the floor. It’s a perfect finish for a coffee table. The underside of the cart has been cleaned, sanded, and sealed.
Dimensions: Top (wheel to wheel): 52 inches. The oak top is 48 inches. Width: 27 inches. Height: 16 inches.
: Cost varies by zip code. Email for specific quotes. Local pickup is available. Our shipping charges are right at what we actually pay to ship each cart. The cart ships in two boxes by FedEx ground right to your door. No fork lift of loading dock is needed. The wheels are removed for shipping to make the cart much easier to handle in transit, delivery, and set up. The wheels reattach with the original fasteners. We clean, buff and rethread the bolts so you can start the nuts by hand. A wrench is shipped with the cart to adjust the end-wheel set screws. We are very careful with the way we pack and ship our carts.
About us: We are a small shop dedicated to quality work and craftsmanship. We have a good supply of carts and, for the past year and one half, have been restoring them one or two at a time. For all their years of service, these carts deserve a careful restoration and that’s what we care about. Thanks for taking a look at our work. We welcome your questions.
