You are the ANTIQUE 18K OR 22K SOLID GOLD 1772? THYAR PITT LONDON VERGE FUSEE POCKET WATCH pictured below.
This nice watch is housed in a substantial (heavy) 18k OR 22k gold consular case (I know that many cases of this age made in UK were 22k). I am not 100% positive about the 1772 date as the date hallmark difficult to read. I believe it is an ‘R’ and the style of the movement seems correct.
ANYWAY this watch WOULD run but the click at the base of the fusee does not stay in place – it is loose – so you can’t get it to hold the wind. It (the click) keeps moving out of place. The chain between fusee and barrel is there and connected. The balance staff is good. The movement has a diamond endstone and ornately engraved balance cock. The pillars are the square type.
The dial is excellent for the vintage as you can see. The crystal is a glass bullseye type. The hinges are good. The covers close as they should. The rear of the case does have some shallow dents or dings. Overall the watch weighs 121 grams. The diameter of the round portion of the case is just under 47mm.
