Antique 19th C. Large Black Forest Folk Art Carved Deer Head Mount Figure
Description : This is a large carved Black Forest folk art figural deer head mount with full rack, it is circa 19th c and has original old patina and a surface that is distressed in all the right places. The wood appears to be a hardwood of sorts, probably Walnut as most Black Forest carvings are and the carving is mounted on an oak wall plaque with applied Walnut surround. This is a earlier carving that you don’t find everyday and detail and carving is of very good craftsmanship, and this would display well in any Adirondack or Hunting Lodge decor.
Size : 27″ across the antlers x 13″ deep x 42″ to top of the antlers

Condition : Old restoration repairs to the antlers, split up neck to the middle of the nose, losses to the paint and a some chips to the surface and edges. We have taken many photos and they show true representation of the item. Winning bidder will be happy with their purchase, this is a great old folk art piece.
The antlers are pegged into the head and will be removed a carfully as possible for shipping.
