Antique 1930s 40s ART DECO Mid Century Marbleized BAKELITE Shelf Table CLOCK

Antique 1930s 40s ART DECO Mid Century Marbleized BAKELITE Shelf Table CLOCK

Antique
GREETINGS!  my website auctions, always searching for the unusual/unique — so hope you decide to check my listings on a regular basis.  Please be SURE to take a look at my ‘AUCTION CONDITIONS’ following the item description, particularly as they relate to shipping, tracking info., etc.  website is no fun if my clients are not happy/satisfied with their purchase — that’s my ultimate goal.  But there are limitations I have to deal with (who doesn’t in ‘real life’), and it works best when both parties (buyer/seller) are pretty ‘chill’ about the transactions.

Great design/styling to this circa 1930s – 1940s shelf/table/mantel clock.  The streamlined design definitely references ART DECO, but it would look great with Mid Century Modern too.  I believe the casing is made of BAKELITE,  but can’t make that call for sure — it is an early plastic, and the ‘marbleizing’ effect (black and white) is great.

The clock has the original cord, and it works perfectly — I let it run for 2 days, and it keeps correct time.  The square top (with face) swivels both ways.  There is a very slight ‘flake’ out of the top — see the close up.  It is truly virtually unnoticeable in ‘real time’, but I wanted you to be aware of it.  The one back knob is for setting the hands/time, and it also works great.  The base measures 9 1/2″ by 2 3/4″.  The top is 4 1/2″ square.  The overall height is 6″.

There is a faint mark on the back (on the metal disc), and — oddly — it is printed backwards.  But you can read it — ‘LANSHIRE SELF STARTING — MADE IN U.S.A.’.

Great ‘accent’ piece — one of those ‘accessories’ that can really help ‘make’ a period room! Thanks for looking — have a great week.AUCTION CONDITIONS:
Probably most important information is that I choose not to have a vehicle.  Secondly, I just can’t — and don’t really wish to — spend 24/7 in front of a computer — too much more to life.  Does affect my conditions — but those are just the realities!

time: I’ve noted that it may take up to 10 business days for me to ship.  I try to ship sooner than that (usually within 3-5 days) — but the vehicle I borrow to ship is not always available. So PLEASE make sure you’re comfortable with the shipping time frame before you participated in my auctions.  Low ratings for shipping time do add up, and can eventually get me suspended from website!  Many major companies selling on the net do not ship that quickly, and they have full-time staff and facilities to take care of it.  Those of us who are ‘small’ independent sellers don’t have that luxury.
Tracking/Insurance:  The ONLY way you get a tracking number is if you decide to buy insurance.  Delivery Confirmation does give a number, but it is NOT trackable.
Satisfaction:  Very important to me, and  I will do everything possible to show and mention all flaws, etc.  Most of what I sell is vintage/antique — so sometimes an item does have a little ‘age’ to it — not always ‘shiny and bright’.  I provide a LOT of photos so you can take a good look for yourself.  I will, of course, refund if there’s something I’ve not described properly, but I don’t sell on a ‘try it out’ basis — just too prohibitive cost and time wise.
Thanks!!!
