I am pleased to offer this early antique German doll in need of REPAIRS. This is a beautiful doll that needs to be “PUT BACK TOGETHER”. I will try to describe her the best I can. Incised on the back of her bisque head is “DEP 8, 154, down below is D Made in Germany”. Reference attributes to J.D. Kestner, 1880+ Waltershausen Germany. The Kester Alphabet was registered in 1897 as a design patent. DEP is a registered trade mark or claim used by both the French and Germans. This is a bisque shoulder head, bisque hands from elbow down (all fingers intact), on worn kid leather body. Upper body may need a little attention restoration where the shoulder head was removed. Body is metal clip jointed, secure at the hips and knees. Toes on this body have stitching between them, also stitching at the ankles. I see no cracks or hairlines on this bisque shoulder head, a little old glue residue throughout nothing terrible. She is a pale bisque with secure “plaster cement pate” on her head. I believe this may be her original blonde wig that is glued on this pate, it is lovely, shows wear and needs a little styling. Poor doll has had her brown glass sleep eyes on rocker broken sometime in her past. One eyeball completely shattered with one being attached to the eye weight (old eye with weight included in auction). I have single open blue eyes stuffed with tissue in her head right now to give you an idea what a “pretty doll” this is, which are included. Someone may wish to put the orig brown sleepy eyes back in repaired though. There is plaster inside this head on each side where eyes on rocker can be placed. She has painted black lashes around her eyes, red accent dots in the corner of eyes and nostrils, brown feathered brows and open mouth with upper teeth. There is a faint little dimple in her chin, she has these wonderful “chunky” cheeks! Her clothing is old and stylish, with coat matching her skirt. Blouse is light blue with white embroidered accents, shows wear with safety pin closure. No under garments, stockings or shoes. I have taken plenty of photos. Please look at my photos they will serve as part of this description. If you would like further photos please email. This beautiful old doll would be a TREASURE with repairs.
