This is a NO RESERVE auction for a Rare 1940’s unpainted working Duck Decoy. It is meticulously carved in a very desirable and rare preening posture. This is a Mallard Hen. This
gorgeous decoy was hand made by Donald R. Gearhart (1900-1987)
of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Don Gearhart was a remarkable person who climbed the
corporate ranks working for Sinclair Oil and Gas Company. Mr. Gearhart served
as Vice President next to his personal friend Harry F. Sinclair
(Sinclair Oil Founder). Later Don R. Gearhart was promoted as President of Sinclair
Canada Oil Company. Gearhart was an avid outdoors man with a passion for
Waterfowl
Hunting. This passion is illustrated beautifully in his hand made decoy
ducks. This heavy solid wood duck decoy is in exceptional condition for
its age. The wood looks extremely nice. Original glass eyes are in perfect condition. Very nice hand carved detail is shown
throughout this beautiful decoy. Utilize the many pics and the zoom
