Welcome  to my straight-forward, no nonsense auction, where you can buy with confidence and receive the well packed item(s) very quickly! Also note that my listings are full of what buyers really need: detailed and honest descriptions. Please read my terms at the end of the description.  Thanks and good luck!

This is a 13″ antique German bisque Armand Marseille 390 doll in a custom made newer folk costume.  The doll has this mark at back of socket head: ARMAND MARSEILLE / GERMANY / 390 / A 7/0 M.

The doll has a blonde mohair wig that does not seem original, for it is mostly glued to the fancy head scarf and a black band. The head scarf has crocheted embroidery and satin stitched flowers.

The bisque socket head has one stroke eyebrows, blue sleep eyes with brush attached upper lashes, two red nostril dots, and an open mouth with teeth.  The eye mechanism that opens and closes eyes works just fine.  the eyelids have a strange red color, so not sure if the whole eye mechanism is repaired or replaced.

The doll has a composition and wood jointed body with shoulder, elbow, hip and knee joints. there are some cracks in the wood sections.  The hands have fingers in tact.

The clothes are sewn onto and around body, so I could not remove them for a full examination of the torso.

The silk blouse, slip and pantalettes have beautiful lace trim, they vest is velvet, the neck scarf is silk, the apron is synthetic lace, and the skirt feels like satin with gold greek key trim.  The shoes are old? oilcloth.  The doll has loose stringing.  The legs flop around due to loose stringing.

She also has a beaded necklace caught up in the neck hook.

The head will be stuffed with soft batting or tissue to prevent eye mechanism from moving during shipment. This stuffing has to be removed carefully, before eyes can open and close.
