Foreign buyers

If an item sells for more than 150.00, we will only mail it Express Mail, which is the only overseas option with a tracking/delivery confirmation capability. This costs $35.00.

This is not optional or negotiable. We don’t like the cost, but that’s the cost. We do not make a dime on Express Mail shipping and often times end up having to pay a little out of our pockets. Make sure you consider that when bidding!!! If watches close for less than 150.00, we will ship it 1st Class, at the $5.50 cost.

If you have less than 10 feedbacks – all positive,

don’t bid; we will cancel it. This policy is the result of new website members failing to pay or respond after buying an item.

Item Description: This is a handsome Hamilton 21 jewels pocket watch. The movement says “HAMILTON WATCH CO. LANCASTER, PA 21 JEWELS 992 DOUBLE ROLLER ADJUSTED 5 POSITIONS 1736185 USA”. The inside of the case cover says “B&B ROYAL 20 YEARS 6574418”. The crystal, dial and case are in good shape. But I can’t get the hands to rotate or the watch to wind. The crown clicks when turned counter clockwise, but is frozen going clockwise. It looks clean inside. I don’t have the expertise to know what attention it needs, but it’s a nice watch and deserves to have someone getting it going again! 45mm case.

website will automatically open an unpaid item claim after 4 days if payment has not been received.
PLEASE READ:

We are not watch experts, watch makers, watch repair people, or fine jewelery dealers. This is a hobby. We buy used watches at flea markets, estate sales, garage sales, etc. That makes it clear that almost all our watches are pre-owned, used, and worn. Our sole objective is to buy watches inexpensively and sell them to someone who wants them inexpensively. We sell hundreds and hundreds of watches. We have a few minutes to examine each one and list it. We try to describe them accurately and be critical. The fact is, we sell thousands of them and you buy one. You have hours to scrutinize the watch you bought and you may very well find a flaw that we simply didn’t notice. And we do miss stuff sometimes. Furthermore, you may be an expert and once you get it, identify a mechanical problem that we could not possibly recognize. Folks, we start every watch at 3.99. Whether it’s a genuine Rolex, or a Timex. If we were suggesting that a watch was flawless, perfect in a mechanical sense, and kept precision time, we wouldn’t list it for 3.99!!!! We list watches for 3.99 that others sell with a minimum bid price of 1-2,000.00 dollars!!! Be realistic. If a crystal has been replaced, we don’t know that. If a gizmo isn’t turning correctly, we don’t know that. If a quartz watch isn’t running, we hope it’s just a battery, but we don’t know that. In most cases, we don’t have the tools or experience to open them and even if we did, we wouldn’t recognize any problems that weren’t blatantly obvious (like no movement inside)! Here’s an example of our descriptive methodology – We do not have the expertise, time or equipment to certify any of our watches as to accuracy of time-keeping. If they are automatic and we shake them and the hands go around, we say they run. If they are mechanical and we wind them and the hands go around, we say they run. If they are battery operated and the hands go around, we say they run!!!! That’s the best we can do. If you want a guaranteed thousand-dollar precision time piece, you shouldn’t be a watch that starts at 3.99. Spend a thousand dollars and get exactly what you want with a guarantee. But if you want a collectible watch for a very fair price, or if you want a presentable watch to wear at a very affordable price, or if you want a parts watch to play with or for parts to fix a watch you have, you may very well get a terrific bargain here. And, yes, we do sell some very valuable, very fine watches that are worth a lot of money. Just understand that our depth of expertise is shallow. We do the best we can. The only people that have lodged complaints about the watch they bought are the people who do not read descriptions, do not use common sense and make assumptions without any basis to do so. PLEASE ask questions, ask for better pics, whatever you need and we are delighted to do the best we can for you. And, if you aren’t happy, just drop us a line and let’s try to work it out. If you clearly ignored the description narrative however, that’s not our fault. Generally, our watches are sold as-is. Obviously, we’ve made a ton of customers very, very happy to date and we have a loyal following of regulars!!
Please make sure, if you are outside the USA, that Customs allows watches to be mailed to your country. Some nations prohibit this. I recently found this out at the Post Office. If you’re prohibited from importing watches, they will not pass your Customs and you will be out the money and the item.
