Rare 1868 Howard solid 18K gold N size hunter case pocket watch in its original case, needing some restoration.Was apparently converted from key wind and key set to stem wind and lever set. The large and heavy 58.8 gram 18K gold case is excellent, but missing the pusher for the case lid. Key hole in dust cover was beautifully covered in gold. Could easily be drilled out. Bezel was notched out where lever is now present. Original porcelain dial with black Arabic numerals is gorgeous. No hairlines. Original blue steel hands. Perfect crystal. The N size movement is in good overall condition with free swinging balance wheel. Currently not running. Weighs 58.8 grams (without dial and movement). If you are looking for a great early E. Howard and know the upside potential here, this is a worthy project. Reserve is set at scrap plus movement and dial value.
