Vintage 1850 Jacquard Doublewoven Ohio Coverlet Made by Adam Wolf for Lucy West

Vintage

You are one Vintage 1850, Jacquard Doublewoven Reversible, Ohio Coverlet made by Famous Weaver “Adam Wolf” for Lucy West in Great Condition. The coverlet was made by the well known Richland County, Ohio., weaver “Adam Wolf” in 1850. The pre Civil War coverlet is in great condition with a small amount of wear visible to the edges of the coverlet…see my close up photos. The coverlet has a dark blue strip of satin type material hand stitched to the top edge of the coverlet. The coverlet has a hand stitched seam visible in the center of the coverlet where the two hand woven halves of the coverlet were joined together. My research shows that Adam Wolf is listed in the 1850 US Census as being a resident of Blooming Grove Township in Richland County, Ohio…and has his occupation listed as “Weaver”. The coverlet has wording in the two bottom corners which reads….”Woven by A. Wolf Ohio A.D. 1850 for Lucy West” The large coverlet measures 72 inches by 80 inches. Please see my photos to appreciate this 162 yr. old gem. Please e-mail with questions prior to bidding…
