You are a RARE early vintage (1917?) ANTIQUE REMINGTON BULLET PATTERN Folding Knife with GENUINE BONE STAG scales. The knife is 4 3/4 inches closed. The blades and punch are stamped with the circle Remington stamp. The pattern number R4243 is stamped on the opposite side of the Master blade, which is very full. The blades have the long pull, the pull on the sheepfoot blade has a chip missing as shown in the pictures. The Opener is stamped REMINGTON. The blades and tools are Carbon Steel. The case hardening is still seen on the punch. The blades have been SHARPENED, they have discoloration and pitting typical of the vintage. The master blade is a little lazy the other tools have a good snap. THE LANYARD LOOP END OF THE KNIFE IS FLATTENED as shown in the pictures, apparently it was used as a hammer.
The scales are BEAUTIFUL JIGGED BONE or bone stag, there is pocket wear, no pincracks or chips , BEAUTIFUL AGE PATINA. Some minor scratches on the nickle silver bolsters
Finding one of these is very difficult, this one is in EXCELLENT CONDITION CONSIDERING ITS AGE , usually the tools are broken and the scales are chipped or broken
