This is one of the most incredible finds I’ve personally come across. I’ve seen beautiful antique leather purses in the past by Bosco, but this one is extra large. You’ll often find smaller examples. The clasp and latch on this features a very large faceted amber glass stone. The locking mechanism is unique. Move the dangle completely to the right, and the purse unlocks. The brass metal frame is presented with a raised floral motif.
The design on this is as gorgeous as it gets. Arts & Crafts era flowers on both sides of the tooled leather are distinctive. The purse is in super condition. No tears or missing binds on the strap. The inside is not stained. The metal frame does have scratches, a bit of green oxidation, and slight gold tone loss. I was surprised to find that the owner even had a small change purse tucked away. The clasp on the little change purse has some green oxidation. Inside is clean.
Purse is stamped with the c 1915, 1917, 1918 patent dates. LOVE this size measuring 8″ across and 7″ high. The strap hangs 6″ high. Change purse measures 4″ across and 2 1/2.”
Thank you. (A collector’s dream!)
P.S. I have a truly wonderful collection of vintage jewelry this week FRESH from gracious Chicago estates. Happy to combine shipping.
