For sale is a very old book. The only date of reference we found in it is 1652, printed in London. Written by John Gaule, Minister of Great Staughton in the County of Huntingdon. It is titled Mat-Astro-Mancer or The Magicall-Astrologicall-Diviner Pofed, and Puzzled. We believe the topic is Astrology and Spirituality, but it is written in Old English so a bit difficult to decipher. Hardcover. It starts with a dedication “To his Excellency the Lord Generall Cromwell”, followed by a section “To the Readers, Intelligent and Orthodox”, and finally “To the fober and skilfull Astronomers”. Pages have yellowed, and one page near the front has come out, otherwise binding appears intact though scuffed and showing signs of age. 376 pages.
