I have for auction this exquisite french antique babies christening gown found in a house clearance here in the South of France, it is pure white in colour and made of beautiful fine muslin with inserts of exquisite cutwork and trimmed with fine lace, I would think it will date to the late 19th century and it fastens at the back with two sweet tiny mother of pearl buttons. I have not wash the christening gown, it is just as it was found in the house clearance, it is still a brilliant white but there are just one or two very faint yellow marks, mainly on one sleeve due to storage, they should easily come out with a normal hand wash, so overall the christening gown is in very good condition for it’s age. The total length is approx 26″ or 66cms from under arm to under arm is approx 10.5″ or 27cms. This stunning christening gown would be superb for use as a christening gown then a family heirloom or perfect for a very special antique doll, when only the very best will do!
