WWI German Carl Zeiss Jena Binoculars, Dated 1917 with Original Leather Case. Model is Fernglas 08. These are Leitz Military Galilean type field glasses supplied to the German forces during WWI. Optics are clear, still could be cleaned. Adjustment wheels are slightly stiff. Original and complete neckstrap. Green external paint shows very little wear. Includes the leather hanger, picture 6. Also has the eyepiece cover, see picture 3. Left eye cup piece (the brown part) has a few little crack lines, see picture 4. The instruction label inside the lid of the case is fully intact but it has been stamped, see picture 7. The case is stamped “E. Leitz” over “Wetzlar”. The backside of the case has the name “F.E. Frothingham” written on it.
