Here is a beautiful matched pair of Antique Sterling Silver Chinese Export Vases.
These exquisite hand worked silver vases are a mirrored pair. There are four matched panels on each vase. The panels have been hand repousse’ bringing the work to life.
Every panel is the mirrored image of the other vase.
Each panel has a different scene. One panel depicts two cranes sitting in what I believe to be pine trees. The other has sparrows amongst apple blossoms. The next a golden pheasant with peonies and the forth panel a bamboo tree.
These vases are stamped on the base ZEEWO and a Chinese hallmark.
Zeewo had a shop in Shanghai on the Honon Road in the late 19th and early 20th century
These beautiful vases stand approximately 10 " inches tall with the hand carved rosewood base and 8 1/2" inches on there own, and they are approximately 4 inches wide.
They weigh without the bases a combined total of 636 grams or 1 1/4 lb or 20.5 troy ounces.
The workmanship is of the highest quality the detail on the birds and flowers is wonderful to behold. It looks as if the birds might fly off the vases leaving the petals to flutter to the ground.
The vases sit on hand carved rosewood stands are are attached with a silver wing nut at the bottom.
These vases are in very good condition. I have inspected both these vases closely and can find no damage or dents or dings. The only thing I can find is a slight chip on one of the rosewood stands at the bottom. I have included a photo of the area for you.

This item will be a museum quality addition to any collection of Asian, Japanese, or Chinese art and sculpture, and will look great in any Art Deco, Arts and Crafts, Mid Century Modern, Eames Era, Aesthetic Period, Orientalist, or Victorian decor.
