‘Purple’ Pint size Perfect Seal Wide mouth Adjustable canning jar with metal bail
Up for bid and for your consideration is one (1) Perfect Seal Pint size fruit canning jar with a metal bail.
This antique bottle
has been irradiated to give it its vibrant purple color.
The chemical manganese which is one of the key ingredients that they used to take to get clear glass prior to 1910 reacts and becomes dark amethyst or purple in color.
They stopped using this chemical after WWI ended, so the jars that turn this beautiful hue are very antique indeed.
It comes with a matching purple colored lid which is also in excellent shiny condition.
Good shape considering the use it was originally meant for.
It shows very little wear for their age although you may find a flea bite or two on some and a scratch here and there.
The pictures depicted are a close example of the actual jar.
It is clean but could use a little shining up.
This jar is very striking and will make a great addition to anyone’s collection.

This is a vintage item. sold in the condition described and may have other little condtions..
Our general policy is that returns will be accepted only if the item is grossly misrepresented which basically means it is not the same item, and that is within 14 days after receipt. Taking the item apart and attempting to ”fix” totally voids this return policy as this is a used item. The item is sold as is. It will be the buyers responsibility to pay the shipping cost back.
