Patented September 1st, 1908, this Army Sketching Case comes complete with W & L. E. Gurley leather pouch. The instrument is marked “Army Sketching Case Designed by Glenn S. Smith” & “W. & L.E. Gurley, Troy NY”
This instrument has a leather wrist strap on one side for Surveying via horseback, everything seems to be in good shape and complete. There is actually a small amount of paper rolled up on one side.
