This is a Beautiful Vintage Hamilton 16 Size, 992E, “ELINVAR” in a “VERY BEAUTIFUL”Mainliner Style Case, Railroad Grade, Pocket Watch, with a Beautiful White Porcelain, Double Sunk, Montgomery Blind Mans Dial, with Beautiful Steel Blue Hands, and second hand. This is a Beautiful Lever Set/Stem Wind pocket watch! I checked the time on this watch with the clock on my computer, and it is right on! It has not gained or lost a full minute in 24 hours!
The Movement reads, HAMILTON WATCH CO., LANCASTER PA, 21 JEWELS, 992, DOUBLE ROLLER, ADJUSTED 5 POSITIONS, with the word “ELINVAR” under the balance wheel. Serial number 2613135 = 1937 production date.The Jewels are set in gold cups, With a Beautiful Gold center wheel. As you can see in the pictures this is a very pretty movement. This movement has been completely taken apart and cleaned in the ultrasonic cleaner, then oiled, and greased and VERY carefully put back together! I was careful not to put any marks on this beautiful movement. The case has been cleaned and polished inside and out also, so you don’t have to worry about the added expense of having all of this done if you are the lucky winner of this Beautiful ELINVAR Railroad Pocket Watch!
The Dial is a beautiful White Porcelain, Double Sunk, Montgomery, “Blind Mans”Dial. It has beautiful Steel Blue Hands, and second hand. The dial reads HAMILTON. This dial is in great condition. There are No hairlines or chips, just a really BEAUTIFUL dial. The front and back covers screw on and off nicely, very smooth! This Dial has also been cleaned, back and front, before being put back on the watch.
The Beautiful Mainliner Style case reads NICKEL SILVER, AWC CO., #5444987. The number on the bezel and case frame is #27195. Take a close look at this beautiful case!! The Glass crystal is NEW. The Bow is nice and tight. The covers screw on and off so easy! It has NONE of the normal dings, or scratches that a watch can get while being worn working on the Railroad.All in all just one of the more BEAUTUIFUL gold filled Railroad Pocket Watches, and a BEAUTIFUL “must” addition to any fine watch collection.
