This Auction is for an Vintage/Antique Edward Vom Hofe Universal Star Fishing Reel. Model 621 9-0, serial# A235 Patent date May 20,02. First I want to state I have little knowledge of fishing reels. This one and other models have been in storage since 1947 when my Uncle died. I recently found them and lightly cleaned the dust and oil off the outside. I have not polished nor have I given them a thorough cleaning which this particular one appears to need, will leave that to the buyer. I wouldn’t know what compound or chemicals to use. They apparently were packed away oiled and covered for the past 65yrs. I will describe this one the best I can. There are no cracks or chips in the rubber (ebonite) sides, the mechanical parts seem to operate, and operate I mean click and turn as they should and the 2 levers appear to function as they are meant to. The brass spool piece inside also has not been cleaned or polished. There are some slight scratches on the rubber but nothing significant. I have had all of them looked at by a seasoned fisherman and he believes this one and all the others are mechanically sound.
