An incredibly rare and large bulldog by the French manufacturer Fadap from a lovely collection of toys I am auctioning. He stands a bulky 11 inches tall and still retains the original leather collar with six stamped ‘Fadap’ buttons. He is all wood wool filled and jointed at the neck. Much loved in his time there is a great deal of loss to the mohair and the collar with it’s horse hair ruff has been held together with an old safety pin, but this is clearly very old too. He has a velvet muzzle, original character glass eyes and wired ears although these are now floppy. He is still a very strong and robust old dog.
