A set of three 19th century large Pearlware Chemist or Apothecary jars. Cylindrical footed form with knopped domed covers and glazed in pink with white banding, each with decorative gilded labels, marked for UNG:ZINCL ; ANNATTO.; and CONF:SENNAE
Dimensions:
25cm (10″) high including cover
Condition:
Good. Usual signs of age related use – discolouration and crazing, mostly visible on the inside. Some small chips to the inside rims, covered by the lids. One cover has a crack and losses to the flange, another has losses to the knop. Notwithstanding, these are highly decorative pieces. The glaze is a bright colour and these jars display well.
A great decorative addition to any interior or Apothecary collection.
From a collection of early chemist/apothecary items I am currently listing on website.
