This auction is for a very decorative antique 19th century French burse and pall.They are covered with cream moire silk, and have extravagant raised metallic goldwork embroidery, with red silk embroidered trefoil motifs.In the centre of each large motif there is a gold mount with an emerald green ‘jewel’ set in it.Both items are in good used condition, although the linen covering the back of the pall has some tiny holes in it.The burse measures approx. 8.5 x 11 inches (21.25 x 27.5 cm), the pall is approx. 6.5 x 6.5 inches (16.25 x 16.25 cm).902611
