Rare WELLER Art Pottery Jewel Vase w/ Art Nouveau Faces, Matte Glaze

We are pleased to offer this rare piece of Weller pottery from the Jewel line.  This vase is molded with Art Nouveau faces amid foliage at the top and trailing vines which loop to the bottom of the vase.  It is covered with a matte lavender glaze which shades to cream with highlights of pale green and pale yellow at the top.  There are 8 glossy jewels around the shoulder of the vase and small glossy jewels in the woman’s hair.  This piece was found recently in a local estate and it is being offered here for the first time.

Signature:  impressed with Weller mark (see photo #9).

Age:  circa 1910’s

Condition:  As is condition.  There is a large hairline (approx. 6") which runs from the rim down to the right of one of the jewels and bends to the left under the jewel.  See photos #14 & #15.  There is also a rim bruise or chip which is still attached (see photos #16 & #17).  At the base there are a few small glaze flakes (photos #18 & #19).  There is staining to the crazing on the interior and scattered minor surface marks on the exterior.
