This auction is for a signed Carence Crafters of Chicago hammered and acid etched copper wall mounted match holder. This is one of the largest pieces of Carence Crafters metalwork I have ever seen. It measures 10 1/2” long by 3 3/4” wide at its widest and stands 2 3/4” out from the wall at its deepest. The match holder is signed on the back as shown with the ‘CC’ cojoined mark, the stamp is faint and difficult to photograph. Condition is very good with some minor bends in the sheet copper, no folds, major dents or repairs. Patina appears original with possible light cleaning. This piece features the acid etched Glasgow rose and thorn design on the entire piece, even the part behind the main body, as shown. Fantastic detailed two dimensional as well as three dimensional design makes this piece a great example of Chicago metalwork. Nice piece for your Arts and Crafts collection.
